ABSTRACT
Tuberculosis is the most common infectious disorder in the world and the disease with the highest overall mortality produced by a single infectious agent. Most of tuberculosis cases and deaths attributable to this cause are located in developing countries, like Mexico, and two-thirds of patients infected with M. tuberculosis are in the reproductive stages.Despite being a major public health problem, there is currently insufficient evidence in national guidelines on epidemiology, diagnostic and treatment algorithms of tuberculosis in pregnancy, as well as associated maternal and neonatal complications.
We present a case of disseminated tuberculosis in pregnancy, with torpid evolution, difficulty in diagnosis and therefore treatment delay.
