This 2019 marks the 39th anniversary of the journal Cirujano General. Three years ago, Dr. Abilene C. Escamilla-Ortiz was appointed Editor of our journal and since then, in addition to the online publication, she has taken it to social media, Facebook and Twitter, where important topics for editors and authors are discussed. Additionally, she advises those interested on better writing and structure of their manuscripts. In addition, Dr. Escamilla has undertaken the work of digitizing the historical archive from its inception in 1980, to 1999, so that all numbers are available online.
