Involvement of Nursing students and Health Technologies in scientific publication

ABSTRACT
Introduction: research and student scientific publication are indispensable links in medical training during undergraduate. Objective: to describe the involvement of Nursing and Health Technology students, members of the Vanguardia Movement "Mario Muñoz Monroy" in the scientific publication. Method: an observational and descriptive study was carried out in the Simón Bolívar Teaching Block of the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Rio, in the 2017-2018 academic year. The universe was constituted by 73 students. Theoretical methods (analytical-synthetic) and empirical level (the survey) were used. The data are expressed in absolute and relative percentage frequencies. Results: 94.52% of the students recognized that the scientific publication offers advantages to the student, 46.58% declare to be prepared to make a publication; and 33 state that they do not know the requirements to carry out one. 41.09% do not know of the existence of Student Scientific Journals. 72.6% of students have not participated in any publication. 41.09% admit having been advised by the Student Scientific Groups while 8.22% have not received any type of advice. Conclusions: The involvement of students is poor, and their knowledge about scientific publication is low. The Student Scientific Journals must carry out a process of greater diffusion about their existence and work. The professors of the careers and the tutors must exert greater influence in the student, that’s why they must increase their scientific production, when linking it to them.REFERENCES
