ABSTRACT
Venous ulcers are the most serious expression of chronic venous disease conditioned by continuous venous
hypertension, a situation that generates significant costs for the health sector and for the patient.
The objective of this manuscript is to describe in a comprehensive manner the current available treatments,
with the most recent evidence in relation to the different treatment approaches: medical, pharmacological,
surgical and wound care to condition a favorable healing and prevention of recurrence of
this pathology.
