ABSTRACT
We describe the clinical case of a 23-year-old young adult with a history of apparent physical health and no previous history of mental disorder, who was admitted in the psychiatric service at the General University Hospital Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo municipality, for puerperal psychosis after 8 days of caesarean section, which required the use of psychotropic drugs. Complementary tests and imaging tests were normal and the treatment consisted of phenothiazine antipsychotics, extrapyramidal reactions correctors and general measures.
