ABSTRACT
Chronic dysfunctions of health make reference to affections of long duration that, in general, have a slow progression. It represents the biggest challenge in the modern sanitary systems and it affects important aspects of the life in people. It is consequence of the interaction of diverse environmental factors with a vulnerable genetic profile. One of the main changes and maybe the one that generates bigger deterioration is the emotional aspect, as the person is necessarily forced to a quick process of adaptation. To try to understand how the psychological and social aspects are linked in the rise, development and maintenance of the chronic illnesses not transferable it is an area of privileged investigation inside the Psychology of the Health. The present article exposes the theoretical-methodological bases for the boarding psychosocial and of the personality of the chronic dysfunctions of health. It carries out a theoretical revision of aspects psychosocial that are present during the whole course of the chronic dysfunctions: behavior, personality, stress, confrontation strategies, phases of the chronic illness and vital cycle, leaving clearly argued that the psychologist's paper in the treatment and the prevention of these dysfunctions is unquestionable. The psychological and social aspects precede, accompany and follow to the chronic dysfunctions of health. The pattern biopsychosocial is the only effective alternative for the analysis and treatment of these dysfunctions; as well as for the development of new investigation lines that itallows the best understanding in a more and more universal phenomenon.
