ABSTRACT
The following article is intended to approach the complex topic of the treatment of child obesity, trying to change the limited way from which it is approached. Most of the medical and psychological treatments that approach this problem are from educational simple orientations related with the eating habits and physical activity are analyzed. The analyses of psychological and family factors are introduced as elements that generate and support the obesity in children, from which more effective psychological intervention strategies should be designed and implemented. We try to meditate considering an approach that has a wide effect on educational intervention that includes psychotherapy, and the real modification of attitudes, where more permanent results are obtained.
