ABSTRACT
Introduction. The magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography is a noninvasive diagnostic technique that provides high quality images similar to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in biliary - pancreatic diseases. The aim of the study was to determine the efficacy of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography in the diagnosis of biliary - pancreatic diseases. Methods. Was carried out a study of diagnostic test evaluation in 84 patients that went to the endoscopy service at the Medical - Surgical Research Center in the period from September 2011 to March 2013 with suspicion of disease biliopancreatic to those that were carried out MRCP and ERCP. Results. Female sex predominated (52.4%) and the media age was 56.4 ± 15.9 years old. The magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatographyin choledocholithiasisshowed a sensibility of 96,30%, specificity of 83,33%, a value positive predictive of 92,86% and a value negative predictive of 90,91%. The strictures of the biliary tract, showed a sensibility of 93,02%, a specificity of 83,33%, a value positive predictive of 95,24% and a value negative predictive of 76,92%. Conclusions. the magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography is a proceed useful in the diagnosis of the biliopancreaticdiseases.
