ABSTRACT
The term «Lipschütz ulcer» includes those acute ulcerations of the genital mucosa in which both a venereal etiology and the rest of the usual causes of genital ulcerations are discarded, and which occur in a self-limited fashion in a febrile context, with systemic symptoms characteristic of a viral infection. In general, their etiology is unknown, although recently an increasing number of cases associated with primary infection with the Epstein Barr virus have been described. It is also unknown why they affect women almost exclusively. We present the case of a man with a Lipschütz ulcer in the context of an infection with Epstein-Barr virus that resolved spontaneously without sequelae within two weeks.REFERENCES
