ABSTRACT

In the requests for publication sent to the Revista Médica del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, some articles have been detected in which other authors are not properly cited. In this editorial the difference between paraphrase and direct quotation is explained, in order to prevent authors from committing unintentional plagiarism
