ABSTRACT
Migraine is a disease affecting approximately 17% to 23% of the world’s population,
of which 3% have chronic migraine (more tan 15 episodes of migraine per month
for 3 months). It is more common in women than in men, and is hereditary in most
patients. The conventional medical treatments have been the most prescribed in these
cases; however, there is a percentage of patients who do not achieve a reduction in
their headaches, being one of the most socially and labor disabling illnesses. Surgery
for migraine or decompression surgery of nerves in trigger points has been described
as a minimally invasive surgical option that may decree or disappear chronic migraine
headaches. We describe the first three cases of surgery for migraine that we know have
been realized in our country.
