ABSTRACT
Epidermal nevi (NE) are low frequency cutaneous hamartomas
originated in pluripotential cells from embryonic ectoderm. This
cutaneous disembryoplasias can be congenital or appear during
the first years of life. Different variants are recognized according
to their morphology, histopathology and topography. The
acronym raven (rounded and velvety epidermal nevus) refers
to an epidermal hamartoma whose histopathology is similar to
acanthosis nigricans. We present the first case in a 14-year-old
male from Bolivia and we highlight its main characteristics.
