ABSTRACT
Introduction: the thought of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, constitutes a guide for the integration of the teaching, investigative and assistance processes in the health system, which is enclosed in this phrase "I want to establish a principle: we hope that at make teachers all institutions of this country, medical institutions, raise the quality of assistance...Method: theoretical methodological conception from the deficiencies detected to the provincial health system in Granma in the last inspections to the academy, which attests that the integration actions are in a qualitatively inferior degree to what was due in relation to the potentialities of the human resources available to the health system in the province in charge of the directive, teaching and assistance processes.
Conclusions: the teaching-assistance-research integration is based on a strategy in the direction and commitment of all, the articulation between institutions of health services and the university should contribute to improve the health status of the population, by providing services, the production of knowledge and the training of human resources necessary in a specific context of the practice of health services and education.
