ABSTRACT
Anorexia nervosa is a very common and serious disorder among young people during the pubertal period, characterized by a strict self-imposed diet rules that determines a great weight loss with life -threatening, malnutrition, discomfort and other associated symptoms. This study was aimed at demonstrating that it is possible to achieve an effective therapeutic response by means of psychotherapeutic methods in young male patients with anorexia nervosa. Individual and family psychotherapy favors the awareness on the importance of an adequate nutrition for the adolescent. His weight was recovered to 42 kilograms during the first 16 weeks of treatment.
