ABSTRACT
Leiomyoma is the most described benign neoplasm of the uterus in premenopausal women. Its highest incidence is observed in black population. Symptoms vary depending on location and size, although many leiomyomas are diagnosed accidentally when a physical examination or imaging study is performed; approximately, one third of the cases, do not have any clinical manifestations. We present a patient of reproductive age with abdominal pain, accompanied by bleeding disorders because of her menstrual period, who was seen at "Mariana Grajales" Gynecology and Obstetrics University Hospital in Santa Clara. During complementary studies, a pelvic mass on her right ovary was found in the ultrasound. She underwent surgery after that diagnosis and the uterine origin of the mass was determined in the trans-operative period. The patient had a satisfactory evolution.
