ABSTRACT
Background: Acute failure of an aortic valved graft is a serious complication in cardiac surgery. Case report: A 77 year old female in cardiogenic shock due to acute thrombosis of an aortic mechanical valved graft was surgically treated with thrombectomy and pannus resection through the aortic graft under cardiopulmonary bypass, without perioperative complications and good recovery. She is in good clinical conditions after 3 years of follow-up. Conclusion: In aortic valved graft failure we must individualize the surgical procedure in order to obtain the best results and survival.REFERENCES
