ABSTRACT
An observational study was carried out using a sample of 34 children of hepatitis B surface antigen-positive mothers who were born from January, 2011 to December, 2016 in Villa Clara province; it was aimed at verifying the compliance of preventive actions for hepatitis B and describing the changes produced in the determination of antibody against the hepatitis B surface antigen in these children. A predominance of antibodies (100-999 IU/L) was obtained. Camajuaní municipality has a high percentage of results (>50 IU/L). It was determined that levels of protection in these children was of 95.46% protected from the use of vaccine immunization and the specific hyperimmune gammaglobulin; which contributes to the reduction of hepatitis B in this population group.
