ABSTRACT
The fibroma, also known as lonely lipoma, is a benign neoplasm of mesenchymal origin composed by adipocytes and connective
tissue. This is a histologic variant of simple lipoma, a common tumor in the human body but rare in the oral cavity.
In this paper we describe the clinical case of a 61-year-old man, who was diagnosed with a fibrolipoma 5 years ago, which
was localized on the right sided floor of the mouth. A surgical enucleation was carried out, and we got a lesion with a dimension
of about 8 x 5 x 3 cm. In histologic terms, that showed mesenchymal tissue with lobules of mature adipose tissue
and fibrocellular connective tissue. Currently, the patient is recovered, and after two years the lesion is not present.
