ABSTRACT
PDA´s or personal digital assistants have impacted many fields and medicine is not exception. A PDA, as other computers, has an operative system; the most widely used one in Mexico is Palm OS. Although most physicians use their PDA as an appointment book or contact directory, there are numberless programs that can be ‘loaded’ in the Palm to facilitate medical practice. The rapid acceptance and use of this technology, particularly by young physicians, is changing the way in which one accesses clinical data and facilitates clinical research, as well as the follow-up and treatment of our patients. The purpose of this paper is to share the potential of PDA´s and guide us on their use in the daily medical practice.REFERENCES
