Elements associated to the quality of medical care of the patients with blood pressure

ABSTRACT
Introduction: assistance at the primary health care requires a continuous development where the evaluative component is of significant need.Objective: to identify the elements related with the quality of medical assistance of patients with high blood pressure in health area I of the Cienfuegos municipality in 2015.
Methods: a cross descriptive research was realized in health systems and services. A number of 12 doctor’s offices were selected with incidence of high blood pressure during 2015, and the cases were 65 patients of the incidence reported in these offices. Dimensions as structure (human and material resources), process (fulfillment of the caring protocols) and results (control, mortality, complications and satisfaction). The sources of information were individual and familial clinical records, a survey an observation guide, designed according to Moriyama´s criteria and validated by experts.
Results: only 41, 7 % of the doctors were specialists in comprehensive general medicine, 66,7 % had less than a year of working experience. There were difficulties with the availability of sphygmo-manometers, ophthalmoscopies, and weighs.The dimension process was the most affected mainly in the technique for checking blood pressure. Only 56,9 % was controlled. Complications of the disease emerged in a 3 %. There were not deceased and in general there was satisfaction.
Conclusion: there were detected different elements which influence negatively the quality of medical care to hypertensive patients in this health area.
