ABSTRACT
Point-of-care ultrasound is the sonographic exploration performed by the assisting physician. The objective of the work is to describe overall general aspects of applying point-if-care ultrasound. This tool is fundamental for obtaining quick diagnosis, with no risks, replicable, and to facilitate the performance of invasive procedures. It is recommended for being included as the fifth manoeuvre of the physical exam.
