ABSTRACT
Incidence in Mexico of 900 cases a yer. A case of fetal
megacystis in a 15 weeks pregnancy is presented,
diagnosis by ultrasonographic examination with
presence of megacystis, pelvis renal dilatation and
anhydramnios. With reference to fetal surgery center
whit confi rmation of female karyotpe and renal displasia
with por prognosis for life. requesting the mother to
terminate the pregnancy.
We review the literature about prenatal diagnosis
and clinical data to identify those candidate cases
for fetal therapy. Th e ultrasonographic presence
of hyperechogenic kidneys, renal cortical cysts,
oligohydramnios are indicators of renal malfunction and
discarding the same. Present ultrasonographic fi ndings
of this pathology for reference to specialized centers and
to know the criteria for undergoing intrauterine fetal
therapy
