ABSTRACT
Myoma or uterine fibroid is the most common benign tumor in women of fertile age. These fibroids are symptomatic approximately in one third of the cases, and sometimes have an important repercussion on patients' quality of life. The prevalence estimate of fibroids in the population offers diverse results according to the different studies, which ranges from 4. 6 % to 51 % due to the great variability of the studied populations and the lack of differentiation between asymptomatic and symptomatic fibroids. We present a patient treated at “Mártires del 9 de Abril” University Hospital from Sagua la Grande for having a uterine myomatosis complicated by the abortion of a submucosal myoma, in which there were few symptoms. Clinical elements of the diagnosis are exposed. The patient had a satisfactory evolution.
