ABSTRACT
There are several factors that difficult pulpar radicular treatment. Treatment knowledge and its appropriate derivation constitute a substantial element in the preservation of dental organ; however they are not always consistently estimated. Periodontal condition constitutes an important aspect to evaluate among these parameters. This work has as objective to analyze the considerations associated with the relation between periodontal disease and the failure of endodontic treatments. A close relationship between the pulp and the periodontium was registered. The dissemination of the infection is produced more rapidly in teeth with periodontal disease and affected bone- level, and thus, the failure of root canal treatment.
