To the Editor:

For several months, CorSalud journal was the object of an evaluation process for its definitive inclusion in the SciELO Cuba collection. The criteria and procedures that were taken into account were established by the National Information Center of Medical Sciences and, at the regional level, by the SciELO Central Unit, in Brazil.
SciELO is a model for cooperative electronic publication of scientific journals on the Internet. It was developed to respond to the needs of scientific communication in developing countries, and particularly, in Latin America and the Caribbean. This model provides an efficient solution to ensure visibility and universal access to its scientific literature, and contributes to overcoming the phenomenon known as “lost science”.
