Computer model for the management of clinical records for dental prosthetics

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the clinical records for dental prosthetics is an official document that compiles the data related to the patient admitted to this specialty to replace the lack of total or partial teeth in the oral cavity by artificial devices that can be used having as primary rules the comfort, functionality, esthetics and efficiently restoring the function of the lost of natural teeth.Objective: to develop a computer application model for the management of clinical records for dental prosthetics.
Method: a technological development research was carried out. The target group was comprised of the dentistry clinics of Pinar del Río municipality and the sample belonged to the pilot institutions: Pedro Borrás Astorga University Polyclinic and Antonio Briones Montoto Teaching Dentistry Clinic, both from Pinar del Río municipality.
Results: a product developed with free software was obtained, which facilitates the operation of the system, defining all the information architecture of the clinical records for dental prosthetics and a model that shows the computer functions.
Conclusions: a model was designed for the management of the clinical records for dental prosthetics to implement a computerized system through a friendly and interactive interface, contributing to a high degree of computerization, promotion of innovation, increasing the quality of services and benefits for patients and professionals.
