Needs of learning on Caumatology of comprehensive practitioners from the primary health care

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the care of patients with burns is a frequent cause of assistance in primary health care, which is a challenge for the doctors of medicine.Objective: to identify learning needs concerning the care of patients with burns in primary health care.
Method: the system of procedures integrated the empirical, theoretical and statistical processing methods. The observation method was applied to learn about the accomplishment of the doctors on duty, as well as the analysis of documents and the interview of doctors, patients and cadres.
Results: since the materialization of Comprehensive Practitioner Program there have been learning needs regarding the care of patients with burns, essentially those related to classification, prognosis and the medical procedures to be followed. Inadequate results in relation to the system of knowledge, skills and organizational ways for training were demonstrated. At present, there are the necessary human and material resources to reverse this situation.
Conclusions: professional training to manage the patients with burns in primary health care is important in order to achieve the excellence in health-disease process of the population, allowing the upgrade of professional performance.
