ABSTRACT
Psoas muscle abscess is an uncommon infectious disease that is difficult to diagnose due to its nonspecific clinical presentation. In the last decade, the number of cases diagnosed has increased as a result of the widespread use of imaging techniques: ultrasound and computed tomography.
The typical clinical presentation is: fever, lumbar pain or in the groin and anterior aspect of the thigh.
The treatment is based on antibiotic therapy in addition to the percutaneous drainage guided by CT or ultrasound
