ABSTRACT
Introduction: The research starts from pertinence in the current moments of conceiving an excellent physical condition to obtain relevant results in the soccer, is particularized of treatment that some authors give to aerobic resistance and the development necessity of this physical capacity. Objective: Diagnose the state of aerobic resistance training in soccer team of the Barcelona Sportin Club Reserve.
Methods: We studied 48% of Barcelona Sportin Club soccer team (12 male subjects) through a survey and the Copper test application to assess the aerobic capacity. Previously, six managers and four coaches evaluated six phases related to aerobic resistance training. The basic diagnosis was made between March and May 2014 in Guayaquil city, in the "Estadio Monumental" headquarters of Barcelona SC.
Results: Surveys determined on average the existence of indicator "Regularly Sufficient" in the four variables studied, an aspect that does not agree with the observational tests performed in competition and training, and with the Cooper test implemented (Mean: 49.17 mL/kg/min), which showed a category of "Very Bad" in 75% cases.
Conclusions: The theoretical knowledge level of all respondents about the researched process was classified as "Regularly Sufficient" and "Insufficient". The planning and execution of resistance work in training sessions showed deficiencies in methods use, work-rest relationship and volume and intensity dosage. On the other hand, the physical condition of footballer is not in accordance with the international demands in terms of aerobic capacity, which warrants the taking of immediate actions to optimize their performance.
