The career technique and motor development in aspiring soldiers

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Basic motor skills are the basis of more advanced and specific motor activities, problems and the delay in empowerment of the former can affect shortterm or long-term physical-military performance.Objective: To characterize the behavior of some motor indicators such as the career technique and other basic skills such as jump, throw, grab and kicking in human resources aspirants to soldiers of the ecuadorian army.
Methods: Under a simple random sampling, a representative sample of the population (650 subjects, Age range: 18-20 years) of subjects soldiers aspirants of the ecuadorian armed forces is select. Motor performance indicators of the basic skills of career, jump, throw, grab and kick by five motor skill experts were evaluated, qualifying the candidates in low, medium and high levels upon completion of a 50m test among others.
Results: Comparison of percentages reached by assessed levels of motor condition was significantly different (p = 0.000), satisfactory evaluations reaching more than 80% of sample, while more than 10% of sample presented problems in some motor skills indicator.
Conclusions: Enhance the correction process of motor errors detected in sample with skills problems. Recommended in those cases that it is not solved the motor problems detected, request the separation of military service.
