ABSTRACT

Introduction: The visit pass is the crucible of the most valuable clinical traditions, both to guarantee a quality integral assistance to the admitted patients, as a teaching-learning workshop of the clinical method, based on education at work as a relevant form of organization of the teaching process of Cuban medical education.
Objective: To present some specifications regarding the development of the teaching assistant visit pass in order to balance the joint and successful accomplishment of the assistance and teaching activities.
Development: The great complexity of the teaching assistant visit pass demands a high qualification and dedication from the head of the Basic Work Group to be developed in the real scenario of the hospital clinical practice; in fact, it constitutes an adequate framework for students and residents to develop and appropriate the knowledge and skills necessary for professional competence and performance and it becomes an ideal space to stimulate and promote the formation of ethical and moral values.
Conclusions: The fulfillment of the teaching objectives through the assistance during the visit, in order to offer a teachingeducational process and excellent medical care guarantee the demands of our national health system and medical education superior in Cuba.
