ABSTRACT
Objective: To assess the implementation of the training program for health promoters in the ELAM student assistants course 2015-2016.Materials and Methods: A participatory action research was carried out from a non - probabilistic sample of 20 assistant students from the department of Biomedical II that allowed the characterization of the students diagnosing strengths and deficiencies related to the health promoter. A program was implemented with participatory studio that gave out content in correspondence with the insufficiencies found. A descriptive analysis of the results of the application of the program was carried out. SPSS 11.5 for Windows was used to process the data.
Results: Students’ motivation was achieved in the themes studied, self-preparation and group work were stimulated. Practical activities allowed to apply, practice and check what was learned and to use it in education at work, based on a set of Tools that allowed the development of actions to promote health and enhance their performance in teaching and research activities. A domain of the content was obtained in the categories studied. Progress was observed in communicative skills related to oral expression, performance in acting mode, responsible behavior and ability to influence the behavior of other students.
Conclusions: The results obtained with the application of the program through participatory studio promote changes in students from the individual to their growth at the group level.
