ABSTRACT
Krukenberg tumor refers to a malignancy, in one or both ovaries, from a primary tumor that is generally located in the stomach (70 %), or in other less common locations such as colon and cecal appendix. Histology of this disease is characterized by mucin-filled signet-ring cells. It is commonly presented as a tumor mass in the lower portion of the abdomen associated with hyperestrogenism and hyperandrogenism. We present a 51-year-old patient who was diagnosed, during surgery, with an ulcerated primary descending colon carcinoma and a Krukenberg tumor in her left ovary. The latter tumor is more common in ages in which ovarian activity is higher, as opposed to the patient of this report, who has a left-sided unilateral tumor, a less common location, which kept asymptomatic and with a larger size than the primary tumor.
