ABSTRACT
The aim of this paper is to recover the proposals of the Grounded Theory as a qualitative research method to analyze the use practices of alcohol, cannabis and other substances usage some young people. It is recovered the Grounded Theory as a method of construction of knowledge from the contemporary perspective proposed by Charmaz (2010) as it is a proposal that allows focused analysis of the phenomena, in this case the family dynamics of young consumers of alcohol and other substances. The work is organized into four sections, the first of which is the historical location of the Grounded Theory and the methodological perspective; a description is made of the changes and authors that have allowed this method to be updated based on ideas about the construction of knowledge that come from each era. The second section entitled, the starting point, shows the methodological logic of the empirical data analysis, the relationship with the theory and points out the aspects to be built. In the third section it is shown the relationship of the theory with the categories recovered from the empirical data. Finally, in the fourth section, on family relationships, a reflection is made on the positive affective relationships that the family provides to alcohol and drug users, rescues the presence of a strong affective bond of the mother towards the consumer, aspect of relevance in the new familiar forms. It is stand out the presence of the family as a group that supports a sector of the population that lives in precarious conditions, it is argued that for this sector the consumption is a social practice of coexistence, and only in times of abuse does it appear dangerous due to the consumer reactions.REFERENCES
