ABSTRACT
The study was aimed at identifying the educational researchers‟ current practice in constructing theoretical framework. By comparing a sample of articles published in wellestablished education scientific journals, the authors appraise the update character or references, its correspondence to the research objective, the redundant, developmental or contrasting character of references included the place of culture in the framework construction and the researchers‟ capacity to figure out salient points and conclusions. The main finding is the identification of current trends in framework construction mainly characterized by a scattering of concepts and theories.
