ABSTRACT
The aneurysm is a permanent dilation of an artery that presents, at least, 50% increase in its diameter. The location is very varied but, in order of frequency, the abdominal aorta is the most frequent place of appearance. The splenic aneurysm is among the aneurysms of the visceral branches of the aorta. Its complications can entail to high mortality, quickly and suddenly. The case of an adult man who began to suffer from digestive symptoms and was diagnosed with a splenic aneurysm is reported. Surgical treatment was performed, which required splenectomy; the results were successful despite the risk of eminent aneurysm rupture.
