Analysis of the health situation at No. 30 Doctor’s office, Pedro Borrás Astorga University Polyclinic, 2016

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the Health Situation Analysis is a methodological scientific tool with the purpose of identifying the socio-psychological, economic, historical, geographical, cultural and environmental characteristics that affect the health-disease process of a health area.Objective: to describe the analysis of the health situation at No.30 Doctor’s office belonging to Pedro Borrás Astorga University Polyclinic, during the year 2016.
Method: a descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out at No.30 Doctor’s office belonging to the Basic Working Group-2, Pedro Borrás Astorga University Polyclinic in Pinar del Río city during 2016. The target group was comprised of 429 families with a total of 1 071 inhabitants. The results were expressed in tables and graphic representation for a better understanding of the content.
Results: female sex predominated with 51,3 % as well as the age group of 60 and older (24,5 %). Regarding dispensarization, the dispensary group-III was superior (47,4 %). The risk factors of sedentary lifestyle and smoking habit prevailed in men (42,1 % and 35,7 %) respectively, chronic diseases as hypertension (20,7 %) and bronchial asthma (10,1 %). The total consultations (4 285) and the use of Natural and Traditional Medicine (2 134) were highlighted.
Conclusions: this study enriches and extends the assistance, teaching, research and management work in the doctor's office, contributing to the growth of health programs and indicators, as well as to the analysis of the health-disease process in individuals, families and communities.
