ABSTRACT
Purpose: To present a case of laparoscopic Vesico-vaginal fistulae correction. Material and methods: A vesicovaginal fistulae with a failed prior attempt of open surgical repair was corrected through a laparoscopic approach, the operative time was 210 min and no complication occurred. Results: The laparoscopic surgical repair of the fistulae was successful, the length of hospital stay was three days, the Foley catheter was removed two weeks after the surgery. After a year of follow up the patient is asymptomatic with no evidence of urinary leakage. Conclusions: The laparoscopic repair of the VVF is an efficient, feasible and minimally invasive alternative for the surgical treatment of this medical entity.
