Characterization of the pedagogial teachers training of the School of Health Technology

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The pedagogical improvement is aimed at improving the professional performance of teachers, raising their scientific-technical level, as well as the dynamic and innovative updating of the contents to be taught, which contributes to improving the quality of the teaching-learning process. Objective: To characterize the current state of the pedagogical preparation of the professors of the Faculty of Health Technology. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive research was carried out in the School of Health Technology, Cerro Municipality, in the period from September 2015 to December 2018, which included 31 professors, using different methods at the theoretical level: historical - logical, analytical Synthetic, documentary review and systemic approach that allowed to characterize the theoretical and methodological foundations that sustain the pedagogical improvement, methods of the empirical level: observation and surveys through them the current state of the teachers was identified and with the statisticians the processing of the information. Results: The applied instruments showed that the teachers' difficulties are found in: the derivation of objectives, teaching methods, use of the different forms of organization of teaching, evaluation and design of evaluation projects, as well as the exit to the curricular strategies in the class. Conclusions: The professors of the School of Health Technology possess an insufficient preparation in general didactics and specific didactics of the Superior Medical Education, what rebounds in the educational process of the entity.
