ABSTRACT
Prurigo by insect is a reaction of hypersensitivity to antigens in the saliva of insects, mainly of the
mosquitoes; it can produce severe and exaggerated reactions, in some cases anaphylaxis.
Clinical case:
Two-year-old male patient with acute picture of severe papular hives, with presence of painful vesicles
on site of the mosquito bite, fever and increased volume in lymph nodes. The diagnosis of Prurigo by
insect was integrated with severe allergic reaction to the mosquito bite.
Conclusion: The allergy to the
bite of mosquito as part of the picture of prurigo by insect is little known, it is necessary to deepen more
in this common pathology in endemic zones.
