Nursing home intervention strategy to improve the quality of life for patients with cerebral vascular accident, and their caregivers

ABSTRACT
Introduction: cerebrovascular accident is a disease that generates chronic disability, with loss of independence and autonomy. This entity is manifested with high incidence in the Community of Cazenga, Luanda, and the Republic of Angola. Objective: to design a nursing home intervention strategy to improve the quality of life related to health for patients with cerebrovascular accident and their caregivers in the community of Cazenga, Luanda. Methods: from the theoretical level, the systematization, the modeling and the structural and functional systemic. From the empirical level, the survey for the consultation of specialists and managers, processed in percentages, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests and Chi-square of goodness of fit for measures of central tendency. Results: the proposed Nursing Home Intervention Strategy model for the improvement of the quality of life related to health in patients with stroke and their caregivers, with the logic assumed in the research and the theoretical foundations as important references for its design and execution. Conclusions: It was found that the use of a home nursing intervention strategy based on the philosophical, sociological, psychological, pedagogical and nursing as a science, structured in stages, with actions developed in their moments, periods and phases contributes to improve the quality of life related to health in patients with stroke, and their caregivers. It reveals a humanistic and integrating component of the members of the multidisciplinary team coordinated by Nursing.
