ABSTRACT
Kawasaki disease is a vasculitic disorder in children sometimes associated with staphylococcal and streptococcal infections. Toxic shock syndrome is a multisystemic disease caused by the release of superantigens by
Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. Patients with Kawasaki disease can also present with shock, and this particular subgroup of patients is very difficult to differenciate from patients with TSS.
