ABSTRACT
Introduction: changes in ST segments in aVR in the electrokardiogram of the acute coronary syndrome with elevation of ST have been related with a high frequency of complications and mortality. Objective: to relate changes in ST segments in aVR with the topography of the electrokardiogram, the complications and the mortality of the acute coronary syndrome with elevation of ST.
Method: a transversal and analytic study with 76 patients admitted to the Coronary care and ICTUS Ward eas performed “Aleida Fernández Chardiet” General Teaching Hospitaldel in Güines, with the diagnosis acute coronary síndrome with elevation of ST during 2016; an analysis of frequencies nd proportions ws performed as well as the calculation of the X Square and relative risk.
Results: male patients and older tan 60 years old prevailed. The acute coronary syndrome with elevation of ST of anterior Wall with con ST in positive aVR prevailed. More than 25 % of the patients suffered from complications, in them the ST in positive aVR prevailed; it was more frequent the abscence of changes of the ST in aVR in the complicated patients. Cardiac failure and cardiogenic shock prevailed in the complicated ones , in them the ST in negativd aVR was more frequent. The fifth part of rh patients died, in them the ST in positivo aVR prevailed.
Conclusion: there was a significant statistical relation between the changes in ST in aVR and the topography, and between the complications and mortality of the acute coronary síndrome with elevation of ST.
