ABSTRACT
Introduction: investigations of crimes go through different stages in which all of them have as a principle the scientific method of investigation; it recognizes interdisciplinarity and intersectoriality as a requirement for the achievement of the quality of the contemporary criminal investigations. Criminology is a science that needs the help of other branches, specialties and disciplines committed to research and development of social justice; specifically it requires clinical Criminology as a discipline that has an objective criminal investigation of individuals who commit a social misconduct that can or cannot be considered a crime.Objective: to review the importance of clinical Criminology in forensic research.
Method: documentary review of the articles published within the last three years in the Journal Forensic Science and the Journal of Criminology from Baja California.
Conclusions: the use of criminological investigations in the current forensic studies is a need to integrate academic and scientific knowledge in the use of complementary investigations that provide quality to the penal process.
