Current situation of adolescence and its main challenges

ABSTRACT
Background: Several factors justify the importance of studying adolescence as a stage in the life cycle. The changes that arise at a bio psychosocial level and the challenges in educational policy continue attracting attention to the international community in diverse disciplines. Objective: To systematize the main contributions in the research of the postulates for the study of adolescence. Development: Historical, pedagogical and psychological factors were analyzed, as well as the challenges in the implementation of new information and communication technologies. Conclusions: Skills incompetence in parents and tutors were identified as the main trends to face the education and conflicts of the adolescence, insufficiencies in the school health programs for the adolescence from the psycho-pedagogical perspective, dysfunction in the family perceived in the adolescence and deterioration of social representation and personal sense of study as a fundamental activity in adolescence.
