Procedure for the diagnosis of the organizational climate in institutions of the health public in Holguín

ABSTRACT
Introduction: it is necessary to study the climate of the organizations to achieve the improvement of the levels of quality.Objective: in order to characterize the organizational climate in the administrative area of the Pediatric Hospital "Octavio of the Concepción of the Pedraja" Holguín province.
Method: a diagnostic procedure with tools to achieve an understanding of the organizational behavior of the workers and strategies for development. The investigation includes theoretical, empiric and statistical methods. The selection of the sample is carried out by a random stratified proportional sampling, and it is composed by 96 workers of the different departments. The gathering of the information includes the application of a questionnaire of organizational climate, in which 15 variables are studied.
Results: the obtained information, allows to characterize the organizational climate in this area. As a result, we experience the existence of an acceptable climate, which favors the variable leadership and the workers commitment. On the contrary, the interpersonal relationships and the rewards are identified as the most affected.
Conclusions: the results obtained in this institution of teaching and research in Holguin, show that it is necessary to continue the improvement of their support processes, which will contribute to the gradual increase of the quality levels of health services, provided to Cuban citizens.
