ABSTRACT
Thymic hypoplasia is often accompanied by lymphocytic alterations and it is associated with DiGeorge syndrome. A case is reported with the purpose of characterizing severe thymic hypoplasia associated to alterations in lymphocyte populations and its ecographic and immunologic evolution, in relation with the introduction of changes in the conventional therapeutic plan. The case is about a 3-month-old female patient assisted by the Immunology service of Granma province until she was 3 years old. The case was studied with a clinical and multidisciplinary approach. The diagnosis was a severe thymic hypoplasia with cellular immunodeficiency. The patient was treated with the conventional plan with Biomoduline T, but the lack of response to this treatment led to a retread of it during 6 months to eliminate any possible negative feedback. The variations introduced in the conventional therapeutic plan were clinically successful and laboratory indicators were within normal parameters.
