ABSTRACT

During the last decade, the understanding of molecular and cellular level of inflammatory injury has increased, although this knowledge has not meant a critical change in the daily practice of systemic inflammatory syndromes even though promising results have come in some scenarios (Protein C usage in patients with sepsis or septic shock).
