ABSTRACT
In environmental impact assessments (EIA) of development projects, aspects related to human health do not always receive the priority they deserve, that’s why, the main factors that should be considered by the officials in charge of carrying out the EIA in the health sector should be stated, which would guarantee a more adequate and uniform assessment of the approach to this problem. Taking this into account, the key factors that must be considered are provided, among which are those related to the sanitary quality of the environment, health indicators and community participation. It describes the legal body that allows an environmental impact assessment and health (EIAH). An adequate risk assessment is essential to make an EIAH, which can only be achieved by acting in multidisciplinary groups and in an intersectional manner.
