ABSTRACT
Introduction: All the actions carried out in terms of science and technological innovation requires an evaluation with a view that allows, based on the deficiencies, to work in order to achieve greater results. Hence the importance of an initial diagnosis as a first step. Objective: to characterize the current state of Science and Technological Innovation management in the School of Health Technology. Method: a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at the School of Health Technology between June and September 2017, whose universe of study was full-time professors, heads of department and members of the board of directors reduced. Results: in professors, 15.6%, 7.0% and 27.3% reached the classification of adequate management of scientific production, scientific improvement and behavior, respectively. The one that worse results exhibited was that of projects. We identified deficiencies and potentialities that allow us to solve the problems that originated the initial research. Conclusion: in the results of the instruments applied to the three study groups, inadequate management of science and technological innovation was observed in the mentioned institution.
